This project could be held in either Halifax or Toronto.
Recommendations:
Black dance is on the move all over the world, including in Canada. A conference will give focus
and identity to the Canadian movement. Dance is the underdog of the major arts. It needs more
attention and will grow.
Toronto option - though there are at least seven dance groups in the area, it be
would be more expensive because of infrastructure costs.
Producing a realistic Toronto budget would have meant another trip to Toronto. Here is a real
Halifax budget for a conference. Halifax has three Black dance groups, plus one of the best
dance organizations in Canada - Dance Nova Scotia.
